and the beauty of the word is that you don't have to show it

watched Moon yesterday. It stars Sam Rockwell as Sam Bell (the protagonist(s)), if you watched it already) and Kevin Spacey voicing GERTY, an autonomous robot aiding Sam in the day to day running of the lunar station. I probably won't do justice to the film by trying to describe it, but it was poignant and reflective. One wonders at the end of the film, if in the future, would companies actually resort to such methods all in the name of profits and capitalism. What I loved most was the direction of the movie by Duncan Jones, and the accompanying piano scores totally complemented the movie at it's various peaks. It did well to evoke the desolation Sam probably felt, and his devastation on realising the truth upon speaking with his daughter (who did not recognise him). Catch it if you haven't, and you won't regret it.

official site, imdb

and back to the muzak.

Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone
dragonette - they never seem to have a lack of breezy flippant videos.

Belle & Sebastian - We Rule The School
Their brand of slow and wistful music is totally dope. They're a SEVEN member band, prolly the only band who has more than them (in numbers) is Broken Social Scene i think. They consist of Stuart Murdoch, Stevie Jackson, Chris Geddes, Richard Colburn, Sarah Martin, Mick Cooke and Bobby Kildea.

Sia - Academia

The Sound of Arrows - Into The Clouds
oh.my.god. this is really aural ecstacy. you really can count on them swedish people to produce top notch music.
