i'll be the one to show you the way

Holiday for Strings - particles
Hello, I'm Alice and welcome to woozy wooonderland. That's exactly what I feel about this song. HfS is a quintet with Pony who also drums for Thieves Like Us. Also on board is John from Swedish band Peter, Bjorn and John. The remaining 3 guys are from professions you'd least expect. All 3 are professional chefs! How funky is that? How's that for good food on the road while touring.

Chew Lips - Karen
Check out the latest drop from Chew Lips. I don't understand what's all the bashing and hate going on, while the video isn't spectacular or outstanding, one has to realise the strength of Chew Lips lies in Tig's voice. Gee, music is all about expression. But I don't think expression of hate is the way to go. I read that they just blow you away live, while I prolly don't have the chance to hear them live just yet, but if they are anything like The xx, I'm pretty sure they're damn good.

Lovvers - OCD GO GO Girls
Buzzy voice which brings to mind those scratchy tapes from the 40s or 50s, and the jumpy mood brought about by rabid drumming and bouncy riffs. The first few seconds into the song sounded uncannily like Kings of Leon's Sex on Fire but all similarity ends there.

Kings of Leon - The Bucket
Old stuff is gold.

in the sky the birds are pulling rain

Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Killers are coming down to Singapore, with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs having sold out their tickets and The Killers almost running out. But but but, that's not all.

It appears that The xx and Florence & The Machine are still headed down to Singapore despite the cancellation of St. Jerome's Laneway Festival according to an article in the Today newspaper. Anyhow, look at this. Go here. Right click the page and "View Source" or "View Page Source", you can see a Singapore link right at the bottom set of links (but it's not working, it just redirects you back to the same page), amongst the other Australian cities.

Also, I just found out that the Mosaic Music Festival held at The Esplanade is gonna have a whole host of acts that will make this festival to die for, especially these 3 acts that I'm looking out for, namely Kings of Convenience, Shugo Tokumaru and St. Vincent. I'm so excited!

Florence & the Machine - You've Got The Love (The xx Remix)
You've got the love, you've got the loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Shugo Tokumaru - Green Rain
This is what one guy commented "It's pretty amazing how subtly the song changes from 7/8 to 6/8. That's why the verse is so unsettling and jumpy and the chorus section flows so well." The only thing I know about 7/8 or 6/8 is that it's some time thingy to do with the beats, but other than that, I'm clueless. But I don't have to know that to like this song. Shugo is very creative, overflowing with those juices really. Listen to his songs, the first thing that came to my mind was really of him painting with his music as the paint.

Kings of Convenience - Toxic Girl
The lyrics totally remind me of the latest How I Met Your Mother Episode "The Window".

"You're waiting in the shadows for a chance
because you believe at heart, that if you can"

Kings of Convenience are superb. And so is Kings of Leon. Anymore Kings coming up?

X Factor UK #1 - like the mischief hidden in your eyes

Anybody's thought of what fate is like? Ever thought that your future wife, could be someone you walked past several times in your life so far? Interesting eh? Anyhow on to music.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
Just had to post this. Really. Watching Jamie Archer(on X Factor UK)'s rendition of Sex on Fire by KoL was so awe inspiring. Haha. Ever since I saw Danyl sing "With A Little Help From My Friends", I just had to follow X Factor UK, via youtube ofcourse.

For the benefit of you guys, here's the two of them singing.
Jamie Archer singing Sex on Fire
Danyl Johnson singing With A Little Help From My Friends
Said Simon Cowell, "That was, singlehandedly, the best first audition I've ever heard."

Lightning Dust - Antonia Jane

Pocketbooks - Footsteps

Moswcow Olympics - What Is Left Unsaid
