like a shotgun needs an outcome

The Hundred In The Hands - Pigeons
The Hundred In The Hands is Eleanore Everdell and Jason Friedman (I think by no means related to Milton or even Thomas Friedman). Lovely electropop, or what some would term indietronica. Buzzy hooks and a catchy chorus are a prerequisite, so it's no surprise there. It'll definitely be glued into your head and you might inevitably find yourself bopping to the thumping backbeat as you walk down the street at night, wondering if you'd start spewing out fire. Love the video, both the videography and editing.

The Hundred In The Hands - Commotion
They've got another video for yet another of their song. I think some remixes of their songs are due to make it ripe for the dancefloor.

Lykke Li - Get Some
Oh, Swedish indie darling Lykke Li seems to be channeling some of her inner Fever Ray in this uber not-so-indirect track. It seems to be about a lover taking control of her man. This stuff is different from Youth Novels and while it's good, I'm gonna expect much much more from her.

Röyksopp - The Drug
Following "Junior", fellow swedish Röyksopp have dropped "Senior", filled with atmospheric and expansive sounds. How they make everything work in tandem, I don't know, all I know, is to appreciate the good stuff. And with a name like The Drug, it's no wonder I'm kinda hooked on it.

Röyksopp - The Alcoholic
More "senile" stuff.

The Saturday Mix #39

Music Go Music - Light Of Love

Music Go Music - Light Of Love (diskJokke Remix) (mp3)
Up and coming Norwegian dude with a penchant for making some pretty dope remixes.

Foals - Olympic Airways (Supermayer Remix)

Lykke Li - Dance Dance Dance (Buraka Som Sistema Remix)
Those loops sound delicious as hell. Love that deep pulsing beat. Is that a genre that sounds like that? Pretty sure there is.

Hercules & Love Affair - Blind (Hercules Club Remix)
Interesting take on the song. They turned the horns part into something more electro sounding. You feel the bounce? Yeah, it's there.

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Cassette Club Remix)

Holiday for Strings - Two of You (The Toxic Avenger Remix)

Au Revoir Simone tomorrow night!!

let's not forget about the fear

this is pretty awesome, wonder how did the guys for New Moon (the second movie in the twilight series) get so many fantastic bands on board for the OST. There's dcfc, thom yorke(!!!), lykke li, the killers, muse, bon iver, sea wolf, ok go, grizzly bear plus a couple more. This OST is gonna be a blast yeahh.

The Killers - A White Demon Love Song
Day & Age was quite a letdown, seeing how Sam's Town really rocked things, but A White Demon Love Song probably redeemed themselves. It's more acoustic, focussing on the vocals and the guitar.

Lykke Li - Possibility
Oh this totally doesn't sound like your average Lykke Li song. It sounds like it came from an Enya album or something. But this song fits the vampire thing and this series to a T.

Thom Yorke - Hearing Damage
I don't know if this wasn't already a song written by Thom and not specifically for New Moon, or was it a song written by Thom at the behest of the guys at New Moon. If it's the latter, I don't know how they managed to bag Thom, but good lord, it's gold. And no, if you're expecting hearing damage after listening to this song, you're dead wrong. It's pure audio bliss from the Radiohead maestro.

Sea Wolf - The Violet Hour

The Saturday Mix #21 - i didn't catch the half of what had gone wrong

Lykke Li - Little Bit (Drake Remix)
Having previously featured the AutoErotique Bootleg Remix, I obviously did compare both remixes. But I can't find anything to fault with either remix, they're both so fantastic.

Kings of Convenience - I Don't Know What I Can Save You From
It's so wistful and melancholic. Stripped down and raw.

Kings of Convenience - I Don't Know What I Can Save You From (Röyksopp Remix)
I think Röyksopp has really done a very good job. I mean usually a remix changes the song quite a lot, like the pace, the beats, maybe extra lines or sorts, but the song hasn't lost the longing that you can hear in the original.

Pass Into Silence - Voices (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)

Bon Iver - Blood Bank (Duosseudo Remix)
It totally sounds different, but I kinda like it. And I'm pretty surprised, and I mean really surprised, that there's a Bon Iver remix. It's like how you don't do remixes off The Antlers' "Hospice". You know?

The Killers - Human (Armin Van Buuren Remix)

The Killers - Human (Thin White Dukes Remix)
These two remixes are here obviously for comparison's sake. I prefer AVB's.

The Saturday Mix #20

well, here's a little French house producer and DJ, Fred Falke sampling.
The Whitest Boy Alive - Golden Cage (Fred Falke Remix)

Lykke Li - I'm Good, I'm Gone
I really lykke, oh i meant like her. Pardon me, but I really found the loudspeaker part totally out of place. And yes, like the description of the video says, THAT white hair chick, is ROBYN.

Lykke Li - I'm Good, I'm Gone (Fred Falke Remix)
He really is tearing the house down. All I need is that disco ball.

Grizzly Bear - Fred Falke (Fred Falke Remix)

La Roux - Bulletproof (Fred Falke Remix)
Nothing special here, just adding those regular stuff and it becomes a remix.

Gossip - Heavy Cross
Oh jeez, I was always sure I'd actually introduced this song before. Boy was I wrong, but it's never, NEVER too late. She's got quite a solid voice. And she is Beth Ditto, featured in SMD's Cruel Intentions

Gossip - Heavy Cross (Fred Falke Remix)

by then I'd stopped looking for my way out

Oh what a rainy day. It's not a downpour, nor is it a drizzle. It's just right. I could get into the rain and start dancing right now. The patter of the rain on the ground, the shush shush of the rain drops against each other.

Lykke Li - Little Bit
Did I mention she's swedish? haha!

School Of Seven Bells - Face To Face On High Places

Camera Obscura - Tears For Affairs

Here's some ambient music for sampling. And a little nugget. The following two artists are signed on to the same label as School of Seven Bells.
10:32 - Blue Little

Ben Benjamin - Squirmy Sign Language
I like it until about 2:10, before it just sort of spirals downward into random drumbeats and really odd sounds, nothing unlike what you got before the 2:10.

having troubles telling how i feel, but i can dance, dance, dance.

Well, this is totally an excuse but a good excuse all the same. Finished Haruki Murakami's Dance Dance Dance a few days ago, and seems like this post will mark that. Left a few more books, before I finish all the books I want to read that's written by him. (sounds grammatically wrong but whatever)

Lykke Li - Dance Dance Dance
No prizes for guessing that this song would feature. It so happened that when I listened to this song, I remembered I was gonna be borrowing the similarly titled book by HM. So I said, why not have such a post? If you read the book, I think the song evokes a similar feeling while reading the book.

The few below are what I feel are very danceable indie songs.
Woodhands - I Wasn't Made For Fighting
Wanted to put Dancers by them actually, but this one's more dancey.

Miike Snow - Animal

Dragonette - Fixin To Thrill (Don Diablo Remix)

Simian Mobile Disco - Audacity of Huge

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll
